Tech Tops S&P 500 Sector Performance in June
While the S&P 500 has fully recovered from the early April sell-off and continues to reach new all-time highs, let’s take a look at how its sectors are performing. In June, Technology and Communication Services led the way, while Healthcare returned to positive territory.
Our usual HeatMap on S&P 500 sector performance highlights a clear improvement in the overall picture since last May. However, for many sectors, June brought a moderation in performance and some interesting sector rotations. Notably, Healthcare swung from a -5.6% drop (the worst monthly result) to a +2.1% gain, while Consumer-related sectors experienced a marked slowdown.
The Energy sector showed renewed momentum, and Technology remained the top-performing sector in June as well.
