European Stocks Cool Off? Here’s What Our Health Scores Say

The five major European equity indices show a health score ranging from 40.8 to 47.1, all below the neutral threshold of 50 points and in the lower end of their one-year historical distribution (data as of September 15, 2026). However, the directional signal in our scoring system does not, at least for now, confirm a bearish reversal: it remains above the neutral threshold in three out of five indices and just below it in a fourth. Only the CAC 40 falls below 50 points, and by a very narrow margin.

A clearer picture of weakening emerges from the technical signals — breaks below the lows of the previous twenty trading sessions, momentum at period lows, and a long-term bearish crossover on the CAC 40 — as well as from the outlook component of our health score, which has declined for four out of five indices.
