No real direction for financial markets

The climate of uncertainty in the financial markets shows no sign of abating and investors are struggling to find direction. People are waiting for the FED and looking at quarterly guidance where the word ‘tariffs’ continues to feature prominently.

No big news on our intermarket dashboards. For equities, the situation remains uncertain, while for global bonds, we have a test of the 50-day average for the bullish trend.

On the macroeconomic front, US March international trade data, the final results of the April PMI surveys and Chinese services data are due today.

On the quarterly front, data from AMD and Super Micro are expected later in the day.

Our forecast analysis points to another uncertain day for equities and little clues for other assets. Volatility is mixed.
