Financial markets ponder Powell’s words
Financial markets struggled to make sense of the FED’s decision and, in particular, Powell’s words, which, on the one hand, confirmed the economy’s considerable resilience and, on the other, reiterated warnings about the potential impact of Trump’s trade policies.


Our intermarket dashboards show no particular news. We continue to monitor the situation on the S&P500 and in particular the movements of the 50 and 200 day moving averages. An upward cross between them could be an important turning point for the index in the coming weeks.
On the macroeconomic front, the Bank of England’s decision, German export data, US jobless claims and US consumer inflation expectations are due to be released today.
