Financial markets on hold as uncertainty persists

Awaiting is growing for the first numbers on economic trends at the beginning of 2025 and for the quarterly reports of the US big tech companies. On the financial markets, the mood remains uncertain, with the bond rally currently the only constant since the beginning of the year.

The financial markets are in a wait-and-see mode. Between quarterly reports and the first figures on how the economy will perform in 2025, investors are holding their positions amid uncertainty. Our intermarket dashboards confirm yesterday’s positions, with most indicators back within the short-term volatility range.

On the macroeconomic front, we are awaiting the US jobless claims data for March. Also of interest are the Spanish economic data (Q1 GDP and inflation in April) and the Eurozone economic sentiment index.

As far as US quarterly reports are concerned, all eyes will be on General Motors, Spotify and Starbucks, with anticipation growing for the first figures on economic trends at the start of 2025 and the quarterly reports from the major US tech companies. The mood in financial markets remains uncertain, with the bond rally the only constant since the start of the year.
