Financial markets in a wait-and-see mode

After the inflation data and while waiting for new earnings reports and updates on the tariff front, financial markets appear to have taken a wait-and-see stance, albeit within a still “risk-on” environment.

Our intermarket dashboards confirm the underlying trends for equities and bonds, but in the very short term, there is a growing sense of pause—a kind of reflection—justified by investors’ desire to gain more clarity on tariffs, economic growth, inflation, and corporate profits.

On the macroeconomic front, today’s focus is on U.S. producer price data and the release of the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book. Also important are the UK’s June inflation figures and U.S. industrial production data for June.

As for earnings reports, after yesterday’s mixed results, we expect figures from Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and Johnson & Johnson.

Our forecast analyses suggest an uncertain day for equities, with few positive catalysts for both the U.S. and Europe. On the bond side, signals still point toward rising yields. Volatility is expected to remain stable or slightly increase.
