Financial Markets Between Positive Tariff News and Key Earnings Reports

For financial markets, the day begins with good news on the tariff front (USA-Japan agreement) and anticipation around the quarterly earnings of three major tech players (Alphabet, Tesla, and IBM). A veil of uncertainty still lingers over the equity market, while the bond market remains oriented to the upside.

Regarding our intermarket dashboards, the only notable signal is gold’s recovery relative to the Dow and the Dollar — a development worth monitoring. Other than that, the trends across the three main asset classes remain unchanged.

Today also doesn’t offer much in terms of macroeconomic data. The only noteworthy items are U.S. existing home sales, the EU consumer confidence estimate, and the UK government bond auction.

On the earnings front, today is the day for Alphabet, Tesla, and IBM — important indicators for the tech sector.

Our forecast analysis still points to a day with some uncertainty in the equity markets. Positive signals continue in the corporate bond segment. The dollar returns to a wait-and-see zone, while signals remain positive for both gold and copper. Volatility is seen as stable.
